Communication Skills on How to Organize Clutter and End Emotional Stress - Steps to Self Improvement
Clutter Takes Away Our Emotional Freedom and Energy:
Clutter is more emotional for me than physical. Sometimes when clutter gets out of control I just sit there looking at it, not procrastinating but evaluating why it has happened so quickly. Cleaning it up is the easy job, yet figuring out the reason will help so it won't reappear.
Some of these simple yet unique tips may help your clutter disappear for good.
Ask yourself:
1: What emotions develop when I see the clutter? (Don't dwell on this one)
EX. Several, not very happy ones. such as frustration, discouragement, stress, anxiety, hopelessness, etc. A lot of negative ones. Our energy goes down the drain as the next step determines how to rebuild our energy.
( Spend time on on Number Two. It is gold, watch your energy soar)
2: What values would be met when clutter disappears? You can find a values list at the website below. Some of these values may be integrity, cleanliness, safety, hope, ease and many many more. As our values are not being met our energy levels go down quickly in other areas. We feel tired all the time, depressed even angry. It is important to meet our values or core needs. You Can Improve Your Energy in a few minutes
Meeting our Values Renews our Energy
With Clutter, many of our core needs, the ones that are important to us are not being met, so our energy level continues to be depressed. So find the values that would be met by cleaning up a little and watch your energy soar, Below are some easy strategies to start the cleanup.
A: Find an area of clutter in your home or office, maybe your inbox on your computer. Just a small area that you wish were clean yet never have an opportunity to declutter or organize. B: Mark on your calendar an appointment to spend 15 minutes to work on this area and keep your appointment as you would for anybody else, like your doctor. If you can, spend 10 minutes now, to de-clutter this area. Respect time for yourself. C: After you are finished, list what needs have been met? List them all, maybe ease to find the things you need, space to work or just to see an open area, order, consideration and respect for yourself. Your energy will develop and your emotions will change to positive.
Take a few minutes everyday to de-clutter your life just a little, whether it be physical or emotional clutter. Return a phone call that you have hesitated to do. Watch the emotional freedom that develops as you meet some of YOUR needs as you de-clutter. Just list the values that would be met by doing this activity and you will have renewed energy to finish it. You will feel great in just a few minutes. I hope that you end the emotional stress that clutter can bring, using these communication skills.
